In a major disaster, public health agencies must be able to expand operations to effectively monitor community health, provide care when others fail, and educate the community about risks and appropriate protective measures. Community health/public health nurses have important roles to play in emergency planning and in mounting an effective emergency response.
Nursing Contact Hours, CHES and CME credits are available for participation in these programs.
