Hospital Emergency Response Exercises
Overview
The Hospital Emergency Response Exercises provide hospital-associated clinicians with the opportunity to practice appropriate responses to an emergency event requiring activation of the hospital emergency response plan.
These exercises include:
- Scenario-based simulations involving mass casualty emergencies
- Simulated emergency events occuring over a 24 hour timeline
- Responses to activities based on the Basics, Explosive Incident, and Biological Incident
modules of the online course Emergency Preparedness Training for Hospital Clinicians
Modules
Individual modules are available for the following audiences:
- Physician
- Physician Assistant
- Nurse
- Nurse Leader
- Dentist
- Pharmacist
Technical Requirements
In order to take advantage of this program, you need to ensure that your computer meets the following recommended system configuration:
- IBM compatible PC (This DVD will not run on a Mac)
- Intel Pentium, 800 MHZ or higher
- VGA display adapter configured for 800 x 600 resolution (or higher) with 16-bit high color
- Mouse
- Windows 98SE, ME, 2000(Service Pack 2), XP
- 256MB of RAM
- 16X (or faster) DVD-ROM drive (This disc will not work in a CD-ROM drive)
- Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (To access end-of-module online evaluation)
- Optional: Sound Card and speakers (This program does include sound effects)
Prerequisite
Prior to attempting any of these exercises, you are strongly urged to complete the Basics, Explosive Incident, and Biological Incident modules of the online course Emergency Preparedness Training for Hospital Clinicians.
